RESEARCH ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE
Part Time
The New York Blood Center is one of the nation’s largest community based, independent research, blood and clinical services organizations. We are currently seeking a Research Assistant to work in the Erythropoiesis Department.
In this role you will perform all aspects of research-related laboratory work & work closely with Dr. Ginzburg on areas related to erythropoiesis. In addition you will enroll blood donors, obtain informed consent, randomize enrolled donors, schedule follow up visits, phlebotomy sample collection and separation for various analyses. Proficiency in PCR, gene expression arrays, ELISA, Western Blotting, spectrophotometry, electropheresis and flow cytometry laboratory techniques is required. Experience with cell culture and knowledge of statistical methods a plus.
A BA, BS or Masters degree and 6-9 years experience is required. You should be well organized, have excellent communication skills with hands-on experience in the laboratory and the ability to troubleshoot experiments.
